Summer Reading Program

FRANKLIN, OH (FOX19)- The Franklin Public Library starts it's summer reading program called "make a spash read!"

Kids can sign up at the public library and win prizes for how many books you read. When you come to the library to sign up for the first time, you will receive a registration packet of instructions, a reading log, and activity pages.

  • Children 11 and under: Will receive prizes after reading 5 books/150 pages, 10 books/250 pages, 15 books/400 pages, and 20 books/500 pages. You will be about to put your name in for the grand prize after you read 20 books/500 pages.
  • Children 12-17: Prizes will be given after reading 4 hrs/200 pages, 8 hrs/400 pages, and 12 hrs/600 pages. You will be able to put your name in a drawing for the grand prize are you have successfully completed reading your 4hrs/ 200pages.
  • Adults 18 and over: We have a drawing slip box for every book you read this summer. Fill out your name, phone number, the name of the book you read, and which basket you would prefer. At the end of the Summer Program we will draw from the box and you will have a chance to win a gift basket full of prizes!! The more slips you fill out the better your chances of winning!!

The 2010 program runs from June 1st until August 7th.
