Technology start-ups to bring 20 new jobs to Mason

MASON,  OH (FOX19) - Two technology start-ups in Mason have committed to leasing 2,000 square feet in Mason Municipal Center.

Companies mDynamik and Storeflix are continuing the City of Mason’s trend of economic growth. Both companies, representing the digital IT and the bio health industries, were added to the growing list of organizations making their headquarters in Mason.

“Part of our economic development success has been identifying and supporting small entrepreneurial start-ups with excellent potential,” said City of Mason Mayor David Nichols. “We are excited to continue the momentum and collaboration with mDynamik and StoreFlix as they continue growing and bringing high tech jobs to Mason.”

The two companies project adding a total of 13 full-time staff by the end of 2012 and more than 20 in the city by the end of 2013. The mDynamik agreement will allow them to begin start-up operations, while the StoreFlix agreement is an extension of their original lease, signed in November, 2010. Leasing space in the city’s municipal center is a creative way officials are using existing assets to leverage investment and job creation of high-growth technology companies in the city.

“We believe successfully locating companies like StoreFlix and mDynamik here has a multiplier effect on the city's ability to accomplish other economic strategies, including attracting a critical mass of more entrepreneur start-ups and greater workforce availability in science and technology fields,” said Michele Blair, Economic Development Director.

“We truly appreciate the City of Mason and their continued support during our start up stage of development. We look forward to creating many new jobs and opportunities for the city and to calling Mason home for many years to come,” said Phil Storage, StoreFlix CEO & Founder.

"mDynamik is very excited to be working with the City of Mason,” said Jeremy Shubert, Co-Founder. “It's a perfect partnership where Mason wants to help us grow and succeed and in turn we want to help Mason continue to be the thriving community it is today."

Since the first 12-month lease with StoreFlix, the city attracted AssureRx to the Mason Community Center (10,130 square feet) and eMerge to the Mason campus. eMerge,  represents yet another bio health startup company, specializing in gastroenterology (GI) solutions and adding to the Mason compliment of bio health companies. Both AssureRx and eMerge are part of the CincyTech portfolio of regional growth companies. StoreFlix has grown its customer base and technology advancement to the point that they are pursuing the next steps in funding for company growth.

The current Mason Municipal Center Business Suite location is now at full capacity with eMerge occupying 900 square feet in the same wing and employing four fulltime employees as part of the CincyTech partnership initiative focused on attracting innovative startup companies to Mason.

A 12-month lease for the combined lease agreements with both StoreFlix and mDynamik is anticipated to generate $15,000 in direct revenues for the city in addition to the benefit of leveraged innovation and tech company start-up momentum and collaboration.
