Mason high school third in the nation for 'Pasta for Pennies' fundraising

MASON, OH (FOX19) - The Mason High School National Honor Society's annual Pasta for Pennies campaign generated over $31,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society – making MHS the top Pasta for Pennies fundraising school in Ohio, and third in the nation.

Co-chaired by seniors Molly Frankel and Nick Riedell, the Pasta for Pennies campaign included an epic Zumbathon, a student open mic night at Kidd Coffee, special dining events at BW3's,  Chick-Fil-A and Mongolian Grill, and a new event this year – the winter dance.  Another highlight of the campaign was the annual NHS Talent Show which showcased amazing acts by MHS students.

According to Riedell, students were moved to give because the disease has impacted several students and families in the district. “We had a lot of support and enthusiasm this year. It is an important cause, and we are glad to show that even the smallest donation can help move us closer to a cure.”
