LEBANON, OH (FOX19) - The MLK Community Coalition of Lebanon will mark the birth of Martin Luther King Jr. with an early celebration for project leaders and the community.
An event is being held on Tuesday, January 15 at 11:30am at 180 Cafe in Lebanon. The community is invited to participate on various activities around the city.
The city-wide celebration continues on the official national holiday – Monday January 21st. The MLK Community Coalition of Lebanon is urging community members to make Jan. 21st a Day ON instead of a Day off by committing to community service at the Lebanon Junior High School, 160 Miller Road, Lebanon, Ohio from 12 noon – 4 pm.
The day will conclude with the 28th Annual MLK Celebration featuring Photography Dunn Well and Mr. Jay Mills as the 2013 Drum Major for Service Award recipients; the MLK Essay Contest winners; and the MLK Student Art Show. The highlight of the evening will be the MLK Speaker, VA Chaplain Rev. Dr. Wendell Rome.
This event is free and open to the public.
