DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19)- Animal control officers responded to Kings Junior High School on Monday morning after a deer got loose in a classroom.

Eighth grade math teacher Erik Poggi says he was in his classroom talking with two students when they noticed the deer circling the outside of the building. The deer suddenly burst through the window.

The two students were able to get out of the classroom right after the incident. Poggi said he barricaded himself behind his desk before he was able to escape the room.

The deer was injured from jumping through the window. Animal control officers tranquilized the animal, and it was then taken out of the building. Officials say it was eventually put down.
