MASON, OH (FOX19) - Where there's a will, there's a way.  That's the philosophy shared by Mason High School's Class of 2011 Valedictorians Jenny Liao and Lynne Liao and Salutatorian Linda Yao.  During their four years at MHS, these top scholars and National Merit Finalists have learned that hard work pays off!

Since she was five years old, Lynne Liao knew that she wanted to pursue medicine.  And while she didn't know then that she wanted to study reconstructive surgery, she did recognize that she was good at activities using her hands, like origami, which is why this field appeals to her.  "Reconstructive surgery is an artsy field in medicine," shared Lynne, who will begin her journey to become a surgeon at Duke University, with a major in Biomedical Engineering.  Lynne will graduate with a grade point average of 5.15.

Lynne's twin sister Jenny discovered her passion for computers in elementary school.

MASON, OH (FOX19) - A Mason financial planner pleaded guilty in Federal Court to one count of wire fraud for an investment scheme in which he defrauded nine of his customers out of over $2 million.

According to court documents, Elliot Kravitz, 54, owned and operated EMC Financial Services, Inc., an investment, financial planning, and tax preparation business in Mason. Kravitz was an independent client investment representative with LPL Financial Corporation, formerly Waterstone Financial Corporation, and sold securities through those financial institutions.

Investigators determined that Kravitz advised his clients to sign a distribution form that allowed Kravitz to pull money out of the stock market telling the clients it was too volatile and invest it in a real estate investment trust.
