In a political climate where shouting over opponents has become the norm, voters who live in ICRC communities can hear an uninterrupted speech from their candidates for school board, city council and board of trustees starting Oct. 1.

More than 100 candidates have accepted ICRC's invitation to participate in its election time forum. The invitation was extended to all registered candidates in the 27 ICRC member communities. Each candidate will speak for up to five minutes on any topic they choose, without a moderator.

"This is a chance for candidates to speak directly to the voters without any interruptions, something that is rare in this 24/7 media age. This is an important community service we offer to our communities during election season," said ICRC Executive Director Pat Stern.

The candidates' speeches will be packaged together by community and school district, and broadcast on ICRC channel and on icrctv.com on demand, from Oct.
