DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) – Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation will present fire training equipment to the Loveland Symmes Fire Department during a ceremony at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012 at the Kings Mall Firehouse Subs.

Otherwise unavailable due to budget constraints, the department benefits with a BullEx smoke generator and SmartDummy Training Manikin, worth $8,899. The donated items are crucial pieces of training equipment and will help simulate real-life scenarios where victims are trapped in vehicles and house fires. The SmartDummy is used to help prepare for life-threatening situations, it feels, sounds and moves like a real person.

Both items will enhance the department's training program allowing them to better serve the community. Since 2005, Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has donated more than $79,921 to public safety entities in Ohio.

PLEASANT PLAIN, OH (FOX19) - "Good food, good coffee, good beer, and good music in a historical setting": that's the promise of a new cafe being opened in the tiny village of Pleasant Plain at the south end of Warren County in Harlan Township.

The Plain folk Cafe is being built into a historic 2-room schoolhouse that is at the southwest corner of the village.

The club plans to operate from Thursday to Sunday each week with folk, bluegrass, alt-country and the like.  They are also planning open-mike nights.  It is due to open this spring, and their calendar lists lots of booking starting at the end of April.

DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - The Falls Inn at the Falls at Landen will celebrate the season on Saturday, December 10th.

From 6:00-7:30 pm there will be appetizers, followed at 7:00-7:30 pm by a performace by the Little Miami High School Choir and 7:00-9:00 pm for horse-drawn carriage rides through the community.

The Falls in is at the Fall of Landen, 7401 Landen Falls Drive, Maineville, OH 45039.  It's in the clubhouse, but is open to everyone.
