US Geological Survey Hydrologist visits Columbia Intermediate School | Schools

KINGS MILLS, OH (FOX19) - Paul Schuster, Hydrologist with the United States Geological Survey in Colorado, visited Columbia Intermediate School on Thursday, Dec. 20.

In Janie Winterhalter’s Science class at CIS students have been studying geology and how it relates to the environment.

Mr. Schuster wowed students with pictures and stories about an expedition he and his team went on to the Fremont Glacier. He talked to students about the many exciting aspects of his job, including living on a glacier for several months, traveling throughout the United States, designing and building instruments, and much more. He also brought along his large rock collection which includes different kinds of quartz, igneous rock, and much more.
