Mason Middle School takes top honors at Ohio MathCounts competition
COLUMBUS, OH (FOX19) - Four Ohio middle school students took top individual honors at Ohio MATHCOUNTS on Saturday and will represent the state at the national competition May 10 in Washington, D.C.
Out of the 190 sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students competing at Columbus State Community College, four students -- Peter Zhu (first place at state) of Mason Middle School, Varun Srikanth (second place) of Hilliard Memorial Middle School, Sarah Wang (third place) of New Albany Middle School and Ju Hyun Park (fourth place) of Greene Intermediate School -- will advance to the national finals. Their national competition coach will be Sallie Carney.
