People told to eat less fish from Great Miami and Mill Creek, more OK at Caesar Creek Lake

COLUMBUS, OH (FOX19) - For the 2012 season, Ohio has relaxed fish consumption advisories in four water bodies, 1 of them in the Tri-State, and added more strict limits in 10 waterways. 

This year’s fish consumption advisory contains updates to 15 locations based on detections from samples that were taken from 14 lakes and reservoirs and 18 streams in 2010.

WILMINGTON, OH (FOX19) - A new hall for cat and dog competitions and displays has officially opened at Wilmington's convention center.

“Eukanuba Hall at the Roberts Centre is an example of our long-term commitment to the breeder-enthusiast community,” said Mabe Rodriguez, Vice President and General Manager of Mason-based P&G Pet Care-Americas. “Eukanuba is a proud partner of the American Kennel Club (AKC) and look forward to hosting even more AKC sanctioned events at Eukanuba Hall.”

The inaugural event held in Eukanuba Hall at the Roberts Centre is the Afghan Hound Club of America’s 2011 National Specialty going on now through Friday.

MASON, OH (FOX19) - Cin City Reptile Show, Inc., will hold the tenth of its monthly reptile shows on Sunday, October 2. The show will be held in the Belvedere Ballroom at the Kings Island Resort & Conference Center at 5691 Kings Island Drive in Mason.  Hours are 10 am-4 pm.  Admission is $4 dollars, with children 10 years old and under admitted free.  There will be a $250 Show Bucks drawing to be spent with any vendor the day of the show. 

The public can view and buy 1000’s of non-venomous snakes, lizards, amphibians, spiders, small mammals, feeders and supplies, all at or below wholesale prices.  The show is a very family friendly event, something inexpensive for everyone to do on a Sunday afternoon.  Educated breeders will be on hand to allow the public to hold animals and ask questions.

MASON, OH (FOX19) - Monday, Mason-based Eukanuba and The Roberts Centre in Clinton County announced the grand opening of Eukanuba Hall at the Roberts Centre. 

The hall is designed to be a spectacular place to host indoor and outdoor canine and feline activities including:

Pet Cemetery Celebrates Pet Memorial Day, Pet Blessing and 45th Anniversary

LEBANON, OH (FOX19) - The Pines Pet Cemetery has been serving Warren County and the surrounding communities for 45 years and this year they will be celebrating National Pet Memorial Day and A Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, September 11 from 2-5 p.m. 

The Pines Pet Cemetery is located at 764 Riley Wills Rd in Lebanon.

The Pines Pet Cemetery “National Pet Memorial Day Celebration” is a free event and open to the public.  Activities include: Blessing of the Animals performed by Franciscan Friar and author of I Will See You in Heaven Father Jack Wintz at 2:30pm and 4:30pm, live music throughout the day with acoustic guitarist and vocalist Faith Elleman, refreshments for pet owners and treats for their pets, and tours of the new facility.

Dogs finally get their day at the Mason city pool

MASON, OH (FOX19) - After only being able to imagine what it's like, on Labor Day, dogs in Mason will get a chance to enjoy Mason's outdoor pool.

All dogs are invited to bring their owners to some Labor Day fun by playing in Mason’s outdoor Lou Eves Municipal Pool for the last hours of operation for the summer season. From 6 to 8 p.m., dogs who are able to play nicely with other dogs are welcome to swim, fetch, and play.

Owners should plan to keep their dogs on a leash and be prepared to swim themselves.  Only one dog is allowed per person.

Admission is free for dogs, $2.50 for adult residents, and $4 for adult non-residents (less for children and seniors). Season pass holders get in free.

We think this photo was shot just before dark on Wednesday.  The curved structure in the background is part of Kings island.
